IT'S A ...
Here for the sex, are you? Well let me tell you its XX rated :-) -This lil momma is seeing the world through rosé colored lenses! You guessed it, IT'S A GIRL!
But if you guessed boy, don't feel bad because I actually thought this little babe was a boy at first too. I think out of an effort to prevent disappointment, I had convinced myself that all I wanted is simply a healthy baby. And don't get me wrong, that is definitely important regardless of the gender. But now that the (pink) dye has been cast, I would be slightly fibbing to say that I didn't lean a little towards #TEAMPINK the entire time! George is also thrilled because this will be a new first for him too! But one thing is for sure, no matter what the sex, babies are precious and special, but for today's post, I'm simply gushing on all the reasons having a baby girl is EXCITING!
Retrospectively, all the signs pointed to girl right from the beginning.
- Chinese Gender Chart = Girl
- Fast Fetal Heart Rate = Girl
- Spicy food craving = Girl
- Terrible Morning Sickness = Girl
- Carrying High = Girl
- Ramzi Method = Girl
- Skull Theory = Girl
And deep down, I always wanted and thought that I would have a strong girl. You know the universal image for a woman found on nearly every public bathroom sign? The ones that looks like a woman wearing a dress? I'm gonna let you in on a little secret, it's really a cape ;)
I'm not going to list all the reasons today why having a little girl is my absolute dream come true. But I will say that the thing I'm most excited about is encouraging her to break through stereotypes of what it means to be a girl, woman, and what is expected of her in the years to come. The second best thing will be seeing her with her daddy and knowing that she loves him as much as I do -cuz, really, but what is more heartwarming and a little girl in her daddy's arms?
So three cheers to team pink! I will be toasting with my sparkling water and cranberry juice in hand, pretending that it is sparkling rose! Drink one for me!
xx,
Paloma
